IN LOVING MEMORY

Marna "Kohllapell" Rubio
4/28/04

Obituaries-Marna Kohlleppel Rubio, 38, of Caldwell died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident while on her way to work.

Marna was born one of five children on Nov. 21, 1965, to Marvin and Doralee (Corbridge) Kohlleppel. Born and raised in Hood River, Ore., Marna had a special affinity for children, dogs, the outdoors, the ocean, laughing, silly jokes and all things living. Shy and unassuming, Marna never sought out the spotlight, but due to her dedication and talent, those who knew her often shone it upon her. Her passion and gift was teaching. Marna never met a child she could not enchant, teach or love, nor a person who was not made better by knowing her. She dedicated her life to enhancing the minds, lives and character of preschoolers. She was a champion for education and children. She spent hours turning glue, paint and paper into fairies, castles, dreams and wishes. She was a wonderful, loving person. We all are proud to have known her.

Marna is survived by her loving husband and partner of 11 years, Luis Rubio of Caldwell; her mother, Doralee Kohlleppel of Hood River; grandmother, Dorothy Corbridge of American Falls; sister and brother-in-law, Alison and James Logan and their children, Libby and Alex all of Yakima, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Carrie Kohlleppel and their children, Keely and Kellen, all of Corvallis, OR; brother, Martin Kohlleppel and his daughter, both of Samammish, WA; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Anthony Meyer of Washougal, WA; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Marna also leaves behind a legacy of friends, colleagues and students.

We love you, Mo.
